Who We are

Purpose

The purpose of Addy New Life Christian Center shall be to lead every individual into a right and growing relationship with God, himself, his family, the Church and the world; through the following ministries of the local church; worship, fellowship, preaching and teaching evangelism; all of which will be carried out in an atmosphere where the "agape" love of God prevails and where the Lord Jesus Christ is preeminent above all else.

Affiliation
Addy New Life Christian Center is a community fellowship, with an inter-denominational scope though it is not opposed to denominations as such. While maintaining its inherent rights to sovereignty in the conduct of its own affairs, this church body shall voluntarily enter into fellowship with other bodies of like precious faith.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the head of NLCC, preeminent above all else. Ministry/pastoral functions such as speaking, disciplining, teaching, counseling, as well as overall leadership and responsibilities are shared among all of the pastoral leadership.

Statement of Faith

Addy New Life Christian Center is a community fellowship, with an inter-denominational scope though it is not opposed to denominations as such. One Living and True God
We believe that there is one living and true God (Isaiah 46:9,10); all powerful Jeremiah 32:17); all knowing (Psalm 147:5), ever-present (Psalm 139:1-14), and unchanging (Malachi 3:6); existing in three persons who are equal in power and glory: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19).

The Scriptures
We believe that the Scriptures of both the Old and the New Testament are the verbally inspired Word of God, the revelation of God to man and are fully inspired, inerrant, and God-breathed without error in the original manuscripts; and therefore, the Bible is the only infallible rule for faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; 3:14-16; Hebrews 4:12)

God the Father
We believe in God the Father, an infinite yet personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully with the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through the Lord Jesus Christ (Psalm 103, Hebrews 4:13).

The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son (Matthew 16:16); and in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:18,23), His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), His miracles and teachings (Luke 4), His substitutionary atoning death on the cross (Isaiah 53:5-6, Rom. 5:11), His bodily resurrection from the dead (Luke 24:6), and in His ascension to the right hand of God the Father (Luke 22:69; Acts 1:9-11) where He is now interceding for His people (Hebrews 7:25).

The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and the Son to convince the world of sin, righteousness and judgement; and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe each Christian is baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ and subsequently indwelt by Him. He is continually available as their abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide (John 16:7-13, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:12,13, Romans 8:9-13, Titus 3:4-7).

The Nature of Man
We believe that God created man in His own image and after His likeness (Genesis 1:26, 9:6). However, Adam, the first man, by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God (Genesis 3). So then, all mankind is sinful by original sin nature and by choice, and are therefore under the condemnation of death (Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 3:10-18, 6:23). Man's only hope of redemption is salvation, made graciously available by Christ's shed blood, received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24). God regenerates all who truly repent of their sin and confess Jesus Christ as Lord (Romans 10:9-10, Revelation 1:5).

The Sanctified Life
We believe in the sanctified life, a necessary outcome of the believer's redemption experience. God has called every true believer to separate himself from the sinful practices and worldly attitudes which previously characterized his life, and to dedicate himself entirely and exclusively to Jesus Christ as an obedient servant. This sanctified life can only be realized by daily reckoning oneself dead to sin and alive to Christ by faith (1 Thessalonians 4:3, Romans 12:1-2, 6:11, 1 John 2:15).

The Holy Spirit and the Believer
We believe a present and powerful work of the Holy Spirit is available to each individual Christian (John 7:38,39). We believe this work includes giftings and abilities which bless both individual believers and the church in general (1 Corinthians 12). We encourage Christians to seek a continual filling with the Holy Spirit, empowering them to accomplish God's purposes for them (Ephesians 5:18). We believe God uses gifts of the Spirit and even signs and wonders to orchestrate His kingdom purposes in and through His church today. Though these are precious to the church and should not be forbidden among believers when exercised in a scriptural manner (1 Corinthians 14), it is important to recognize that the most crucial and trustworthy evidence of the Spirit-controlled life is the Fruit of the Spirit (Galations 5:22,23; 1 Corinthians 13).

The Church
We believe in the Church, the Body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:24), of which all regenerated persons are members and in which all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are scripturally exercised for the mutual edification of its members (1Corinthians 12:1-11). The great commission to the Church is world evangelism (Matthew 28:19). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, as the Head of the Church (Colossians 1:18), has committed to it two ordinances: the water baptism of believers by immersion (Matthew 28:19) and communion open to all true believers (1 Corinthians 11:20-34).

The Future
We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His saints (John 14:1-3) which is the Rapture of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18), followed by the visible and personal return of Christ with His saints to the earth to reign with them (Revelation 19:14, 20:4-6; ch. 21); in the final Great White Throne Judgement (Revelation 20:11-15); and in the endless suffering of the unregenerate and the eternal blessing of the regenerate (Revelation 22).
